Please note that there are some misguided individuals who claim that the Mark of the Beast is just symbolic, metaphorical or spiritual in nature. Personally, I wholeheartedly disagree with this view, because Revelation chapter thirteen makes it very clear that it is used to control identification and commerce. It is very real, and very physical.
"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
