Don"t Harden Your Heart -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment."
Isaiah 1:4-6, KJV

"Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."

John 12:40, KJV

"Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye."
Acts 7:51, KJV

"But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;"

Same-Sex "Marriage": The Gravity of the Matter

Below is a link to another NYT article regarding the ongoing Supreme Court case concerning the legality of same-sex "marriage". Considering the very liberal nature of the New York Times, I was rather surprised that they even printed this article. However, it is a very good article, and it highlights the main point that I made in my previous blog post only an hour or so ago. Following is a key quote from it:

For thousands of years, in societies around the globe, marriage has meant the union of a man and a woman. “And suddenly,” said Justice Stephen G. Breyer, “you want nine people outside the ballot box” to change that by judicial fiat.

Another very interesting quote from the aforementioned NYT article is the following one:

People feel very differently about something if they have a chance to vote on it than if it"s imposed on them by the courts.

So true indeed. As I have mentioned before, and as this news article confirms, the ONLY reason why same-sex "marriage" has been legalized in so many states, is because the will of the people -- via popular vote -- was overridden by liberal judges. The will of literally millions of people across the land from coast to coast, was invalidated by a handful of liberal, activist judges. That simply is NOT right. That is NOT democracy in action. That amounts to a judicial dictatorship.

Don"t get me wrong. Despite my objections, and the objections of many other Christians, I have no doubt that same-sex "marriage" eventually will be legalized nationwide. However, it won"t be the result of liberal, activist judges, it will be due to the fact that the younger generation is much more liberal than our own, and they will very soon outnumber us.

In fact, as you may already know, the percentage of voting Americans who support same-sex "marriage" already surpasses 50%. So again, in my view, it is not a matter of if same-sex "marriage" will be legalized nationwide, but rather when it will be legalized. If the current Supreme Court justices don"t do it, the younger generation eventually will, and that is a real tragedy.

Don"t Faint In Your Minds -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. "
Hebrews 12:2-3, KJV

"Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not . . . For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day."
2 Corinthians 4:1, 16, KJV

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
Galatians 6:9, KJV

"Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory."
Ephesians 3:13, KJV

"But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing."

Supreme Court Justices Expression Caution Over Same-Sex "Marriage"

My personal views regarding same-sex "marriage" aside -- you all know what they are already anyway if you have read my articles, followed by blogs entries and read my Facebook comments -- after reading the linked news article below, my sense is that some of the justices are struggling between the desire to grant full marriage rights to same-sex couples, and the recognition that to grant such a right is a very major sea change, and a tremendous responsibility which some of the justices are not yet willing to accept, given that male-to-female marriages have been the norm, and the bedrock of human social order, for literally thousands of years.

This is not something to be taken or to be considered lightly. To vote in favor of legalizing same-sex "marriage" nationwide will have very broad and far-reaching ramifications. Furthermore, as has occurred with abortion and other controversial issues, once it is done, once the die is cast, it will be very difficult to legally undo this ruling. It will have a very long-lasting effect on American society. Furthermore, it will divided the nation even further, and draw hard lines in the sand. Neither do I believe that the issue will simply disappear once the Supreme Court justices have made their ruling.

With good reason then, despite their desire to treat everyone equally when it comes to the issue of marriage rights, some of the justices are very hesitant to take the plunge, and are being extremely cautious regarding this entire matter. To suddenly change what has been the norm for thousands of years, based on barely a decade"s worth of experience with legalized same-sex "marriage" simply is not wise. Some of the justices don"t want this on their heads, and I don"t blame them one bit.

The justice believed to hold the controlling vote, Anthony M. Kennedy, appeared torn about what to do in a groundbreaking civil rights case.

For those of you who may have not yet read my own articles regarding this topic, below are links to the same. Please be advised that they were written years ago, and that some of them are seriously due for an update. Nevertheless, even in their current state, they clearly reflect my opinion regarding homosexuality, same-sex "marriage" and the gay and lesbian rights movement. I have also included some links to related KJV Bible verse lists:

Let"s all hope and pray that enough of the Supreme Court justices take heed to caution, and do not let same-sex "marriage" become the law of the land. Let"s hope that some of them are God-fearing enough, and have enough moral fortitude, to resist legalizing this abomination.

Don"t Be Ashamed to Be Called a Christian -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

The Disciples were first called Christians in Antioch:

"And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."
Acts 11:26, KJV

This was not a derogatory term. It simply meant -- and means -- one who follows Christ.

King Herod Agrippa II likewise used the term, and it was not in a derogatory sense either:

"Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian."
Acts 26:28, KJV

The Apostle Peter likewise used the term in addressing the brethren, as we see here:

"Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."
1 Peter 4:16, KJV

While Christians later became hated, despised, persecuted and killed by both the unbelieving Jews and the Romans, nevertheless, it still does not change what the word actually means. It is simply a precise, descriptive term to explain who and what we are.

If we are ashamed to be called Christians, then consider this verse:

"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
Mark 8:38, KJV

Everyone is labeled as something in this world, good or bad. Don"t you prefer to be known as a Christian?

If you read "Pontifex Maximus: Pagan High Priest to Roman Catholic Pope", you will clearly learn that it was Emperor Constantine and the misguided Christian bishops of the 4th Century who set the groundwork for what would eventually become the state-enforced religion which we know today as Roman Catholicism. Catholic Christianity was not, and is not, true Christianity, as founded by Christ and the Apostles.

Alien Life: Not If, But When

For centuries, many conservative Christians have staunchly held to the view that God did not create life beyond this Earth. As evidence of their claim, they point to the Book of Genesis. However, as I point out in such articles as the eight-part series entitled "Alien Life, Extrasolar Planets and Universal Atonement", personally, I am not entirely convinced of this view.

Furthermore, to be honest, I find no clear-cut evidence in the Book of Genesis which suggests that this is so. My view is that due to Christian tradition, closed-mindedness, and an unwillingness to see beyond what they have been taught, many Christians are unable to think outside of the box, or to recognize that the Book of Genesis may quite possibly be an Earth-centric account of Creation, because that is all that we needed to know, or perhaps better stated, what our ancient human ancestors needed to know. In short, is it possible that for centuries now, many Christians have simply read into the text in Genesis what they want to see, because that is what is in their comfort zone?

While I obviously do not accept every single thing that modern science promotes today -- such as the theory of evolution, for example -- nevertheless, I do remain open to their views in some areas. The possibility of some form of life existing on other planets is one such view.

Following is a quote from an article which appeared earlier this month in the Los Angeles Times. Please keep in mind that this is not coming from wild-eyed conspiracy theorists, or from alien and UFO fanatics. It is coming from well-respected, serious NASA scientists who know what they are talking about.

Are we alone in the universe? Top NASA scientists say the answer is almost certainly “no.”

Source: NASA: We"ll find alien life in 10 to 20 years - LA Times

Obviously, I don"t know if we will ever reach the point where we discover intelligent, sentient life on other planets, but if we do, it certainly won"t be during my lifetime. However, I do hope that I remain alive long enough to hear about at least some base forms of life, including animal life. How about you?

Alien Life: Not If, But When

Going Down the Genetic Slippery Slope

Given the nature of human curiosity, and particularly the nature of scientific curiosity, as this New York Times article notes, it was only a matter of time -- and in fact long-anticipated -- that this day would arrive. In fact, I wouldn"t be the least surprised to learn that these types of gene-altering experiments have been attempted before now, but were simply hushed up and kept under wraps.

Regardless, with this public revelation, it is now evident that men of modern science have taken another step down the slippery slope of science and technology, and it is dreadful to consider where this may eventually lead humanity, if not eventually -- decades from now -- to a government-controlled, eugenic society, as envisioned by individuals as diverse as Aldous Huxley -- author of the 1930"s classic "Brave New World" -- and Adolf Hitler, who was obsessed with creating a German "super race".

You"ve heard it before, but I will say it again. Tampering with the human genome is very dangerous business. It is playing "God". God set genetic boundaries in the Book of Genesis for a reason. He knew what He was doing. Man, with his limited knowledge, does not. While it is great that some scientists and ethicists are sounding the alarm, we should all be concerned that not everyone, and not all nations, will take heed. Greed, monetary gain, lust for power and ego are powerful motivators, as they have always been.

An experiment long dreaded by many researchers, with the goal of eradicating disease genes, failed in the ways that had been feared.

Dogs and Swine -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet."
Psalms 22:16, KJV

"As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly."
Proverbs 26:11, KJV

"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."
Matthew 7:6, KJV

"And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour."
Matthew 15:22-28, KJV

"Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision."
Philippians 3:2, KJV

“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."
2 Peter 2:20-22, KJV

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."

Doctrines of the Sadducees -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both."
Acts 23:6-8, KJV

"The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. And last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine."
Matthew 22:23-33, KJV

"Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man"s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also. In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife. And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err."
Mark 12:18-27, KJV

"Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man"s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him."

Doctrines and Traditions of the Pharisees -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy."
Luke 12:1, KJV

"Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees."
Matthew 16:6-12, KJV

"Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition."
Matthew 15:1-6, KJV

"He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye."
Mark 7:6-13, KJV

Paul"s Warnings:

"And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man"s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."
1 Corinthians 2:4-5, KJV

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Colossians 2:8, KJV

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
2 Timothy 4:3-4, KJV

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love."
Ephesians 4:1-3, 14-16, KJV

"Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in ONE SPIRIT, with ONE MIND striving together for the faith of the gospel;"
Philippians 1:27, KJV

"Fulfil ye my joy, THAT YE BE LIKEMINDED, having the same love, being of ONE ACCORD, of ONE MIND."
Philippians 2:2, KJV

Divided by the Word of God -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man"s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me."
Matthew 10:34-38, KJV

"Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name"s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."
Mark 13:12-13, KJV

"Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law."
Luke 12:51-53, KJV

"And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people . . . Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? So there was a division among the people because of him."
John 7:12, 40-43, KJV

"Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them."
John 9:16, KJV

"There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?"
John 10:19-21, KJV

"And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren. Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands. But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles."
Acts 14:1-4, KJV

"But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both."
Acts 23:6-8, KJV

Difficulty of Understanding the Scriptures -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know."
1 Corinthians 8:1-2, KJV

"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself."
1 Timothy 6:3-5, KJV

"Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."
Hebrews 5:11-14, KJV

"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"
1 Peter 2:2, KJV

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."
2 Peter 3:16, KJV

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:8-9, KJV

"Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number."
Job 9:10, KJV

"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!"
Romans 11:33, KJV

Destruction of Herod"s Temple -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
John 4:20-24, KJV

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."
Matthew 23:37-24:2, KJV

"And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."
Mark 13:1-2, KJV

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."
Luke 13:34-35, KJV

"And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down . . . And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh."
Luke 21:5-6, 20, KJV

Desperate Prayer -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

KJV Bible verse list compiled by the WordWeaver

"In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying, I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David"s sake."
2 Kings 20:1-6, KJV

"And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah"s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth. And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead? But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead. Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat. Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread. And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live? But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me."
2 Samuel 12:13-23, KJV

"In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city."
Isaiah 38:1-6, KJV

"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."
Psalms 51:10, KJV

"Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."
Luke 18:10-14, KJV

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."
James 4:7-10, KJV
