Bill"s Bible Basics Graphics Library Now Open!
Dear friends, it’s taken a little longer than I expected — almost three weeks actually — but I am very pleased to announce that after a lot of hard work, the “Bill’s Bible Basics Graphics Library” is now open to the public.
Exactly what is the “BBB Graphics Library”? It is a section of the Bill’s Bible Basics website which displays the latest versions of the 4,000+ images which I have created and shared on Facebook and other social networks over the past eight years or so. The library consists of a main index page which lists — with clickable or tappable links — the 300 image categories which are currently available. As some of you will already know, all of my images belong to a particular group, or category.
All you have to do is click or tap on any one of the 300 links in the index, and you will be taken to a page which displays ALL of the images — actual full-sized images, not just links — for that particular category. Because each page contains four dozen images or less, it will load a lot faster than trying to load thousands of images in a Facebook album, for example.
But that is not all. Not only will you find all of the images which belong to a particular category, but below the images, you will also find links to all of the “Bible Study Resources” — my articles, series and KJV Bible Verse Lists — which are related to that group of images. For example, if you want to see all of the images I have created which pertain to “Salvation and Eternal Life”, just click or tap on the “Salvation, Eternal Life” link on the main index page, and you will be taken to that particular page of the Graphics Library.
Please note that the “BBB Graphics Library” is a static section of my website. In other words, what I put there will remain there, and will not change much, except to add:
• new or updated images
• new image categories
• new or updated Bible Study Resources
One advantage of using the “BBB Graphic Library” is that I have complete control over it. As a result, you will see my images in their original form, without all of the compression and resizing which Facebook and other social networks do, which seriously deteriorates the quality of the images.
While the “BBB Graphics Library” is viewable on a cell phone, due to the size of the images, it really works a lot better, and looks a lot better, on a regular desktop computer with a fairly large monitor, or on a laptop. Tablets should be okay too, but not as much as a desktop or laptop computer.
Just like with the rest of the Bill’s Bible Basics website, there are sharing buttons on the 300 category pages. In other words, if you click or tap on any of the social network sharing buttons, it will share that entire page with your online friend(s).
Please note that it isn’t possible to share just one individual image from within the “BBB Graphics Library” when using the row of share buttons. While it is possible to make it work that way, it would take me an extremely long time to set it up — undoubtedly many months — because currently, there are over 4,000 images. In other words, I would have to manually create an additional 4,000+ pages on my website, in order for it to work that way. I just don’t have that kind of time.
However, there is another way to share the images. How well this second way works for you depends a lot on which operating system you are using — Windows, macOS, Linux, etc. — what kind of device you are using — desktop, laptop, tablet, cell phone — and what app you are using to access the Graphics Library.
Depending on your particular setup — as noted above — you may be able to copy or download the images by either touching your screen, right-clicking an image, or control-clicking an image. FB Messenger appears to have some limitations regarding this. As such, regardless of which device you are using, I strongly encourage everyone to use a web browser to access the “BBB Graphics Library”, if you want to get the best results.
Considering how hard I have worked on this project, it is my hope and prayer that some of my thousands of online friends will take an interest in using this new tool. Not only is it a great Bible study tool for your personal usage, but it is also a great witnessing tool when you share the images and Bible Study Resources links with your online friends.
