Most of you have probably heard by now of the two powerful earthquakes which shook the Indonesian province of Aceh on the northern tip of the island of Sumatra on Wednesday, April 11th. According to the US Geological Survey, the double quakes -- the first one measured about 8.6 on the Richter Scale and was followed by a 8.2 temblor about three hours later -- were centered about thirty kilometers beneath the ocean floor, and approximately four hundred and thirty kilometers from Aceh province. There were approximately twenty minor aftershocks hours later.
You may recall that the devastating 2004 9.1 earthquake which struck that very same region resulted in about 230,000 deaths around the Indian Ocean basin. 170,000 of those deaths occurred in the Aceh region. With good reason, the people of Banda Aceh -- the capital of Aceh province -- were in shock, and raced to find higher ground. The memory of the deadly tsunami which followed the 2004 earthquake -- which killed many of their family members -- was still fresh in their minds. Thankfully, no tsunami occurred this time.
These two major earthquakes are yet again another powerful sign that we are living in the End Times, that prophecy is being fulfilled to the letter as spoken by Jesus Himself in Matthew chapter twenty-four, and that the remaining Endtime prophecies will also find their completion in God's appointed time. As I point out in my 1999 in-depth, fourteen-part series entitled "Fulfilled Prophecy: The Beginning of Sorrows", Jesus said:
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

As I said, the remaining prophecies of the End Time will be fulfilled as well, because God is not a man that He should lie. Everything which He has stated in His holy Word will happen, shall indeed occur, as we see by the following verses:
"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

Please remember that these are only the Beginning of Sorrows. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. However, let us not forget that "God is in Control", and that not one hair of our heads shall perish without our Father knowing about it:
